Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00 PM |
Jon Perry Claireece Precious Jones endures unimaginable hardships in her young life. Abused by her mother, raped by her father, she grows up poor, angry, illiterate, fat, unloved and generally unnoticed. So what better way to learn about her than through her own, halting dialect.
Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire

Jon,
It was an amazingly, sobering movie. I have so many emotions at this point. All I can say is life is hard and I am so blessed. At this moment I hate Precious mother. I hate that they are infected. I hate the the fact that her dad did not protect her but inflicted the abuse upon her. I am glad he is dead.
Now, this movie is good in the respect that it brings-up a desire to protect children. I want to protect my daughter from this type of abuse. I want all children who are in those environments to be rescued and saved. I desire to help others who are impacted in this manner.
Thank you for sharing all of this with us, and especially me.
love,

The silence must be broken, there are many young people experiencing some of the same hardships that Precious endured. Wonder why so many young brothas and sistahs have been exposed to drugs, HIV and abuse.
