you got the best of me

Jon Perry Life tends to get the best for us when we let our circumstances become the god that guides us. For many of us that’s all we know. I include myself.
It’s hard when the one you love lives an entire continent away, the bills are due, your blog is shut down because you turned up broke or any other myriad of worldly circumstances sticks its leg in your path to trip you up.
Hearing my granny’s voice this morning was like going back in time. I see her sitting in her raggedy blue recliner with me @ 25 years old, sitting her lap. “Jonathan! If you don’t get yo boney ass out of my lap… expletive… expletive… expletive!” I missed her all the more!

Talking to her reminded me of how great she is. For all she never became, I realized how she became so much more! Even in her old age she’s still my anchor and the wind in my sails. When I point this ship home, she’s the wind that’ll get me there.
I got a call from my friend Kakie in Minnesota today. It was out of the blue and only moments after I’d begged Sprint to turn my phone back on. There’s something to that (her timing)!
Her voice was encouraging to me because she’d done what no one else had today… call and see if Jonathan was oK!
Fighting back the tears because life had literally put me in the dark, I talked to her and went back to bed.
Talking to her today, I recognized the importance of justbthat.com in my life! For almost 3 years it has been my therapy. It has been my consort when the “would be’s” and the “would be not’s” had everything and nothing to say. I took justbthat.com, and the people who read it for granted. And when I had neither, I felt like I had nothing. I feel like my existence here, is inextricably linked to the people who take an interest in what I say and do.
It’s my bed time now. Let me leave you with one more note. This *b*log isn’t free. If you like what you ready, please donate. It not only keeps it running, it also keeps me encouraged because I know it is worth something to more than just me.
Much love to you!
Also, during the time had off I found this thing called a DropBox. Check it out! Sign up for it and send me an email to (justbthat@justbthat.com) and I’ll show you the folder i keep all my camera phone pictures in…ha ha ha ha!. Oh yeah, It’s free!

Isn't it funny how gifts seem to come to us right when we need them the most? We have alot to be grateful for and more work to do in this world. It feels good to know we are making a difference in the lives of others. Sometimes that difference comes in ways we never could have imagined. YOU are a gift and make a difference in my life. ;) Peace and blessings my friend.
Good to have you back, you are valued!
