June 27, 2008 is National HIV Testing Day!
National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) is an annual campaign produced by the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA-US) to encourage at-risk individuals to receive voluntary HIV counseling and testing.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 180,000 to 280,000 people nationwide are HIV-positive but are unaware of their status.
Join me, Sheryl Lee Ralph (writer, producer and star of the one woman show, Sometimes I Cry), Phil Wilson (Black AIDS Institute, Executive Director), Gil Robertson (author of Not In My Family) and others as we talk about HIV/AIDS from a place called experience. Listen to experience after experience of the impact HIV/AIDS has had on countless lives. We want to hear some of your stories also. If you have a story share it here.
They will also be available to answer your questions.
Getting tested can save your life!
